Submitting Your Editorial Content

STORIES
Space is reserved in every issue for every division in the District. Please, promote your sport by contributing stories and photos about your events, past and/or upcoming. This is FREE advertising for your division. Take advantage of it!

In the spirit of doing my part to help reduce waste on the planet as much as I can, it is preferred your story be submitted electronically. Mailed submissions will of course, be accepted as necessary too. If you will be mailing your story, only typed documents on plain white paper will be accepted. Please call or email for mailing address.

When submitting a story electronically, only text file documents such as Microsoft Word (preferred), Notepad or Wordpad will be accepted. Simply attach your document to an email and send it. You may also type (or copy & paste) your story directly into an email.

Advance notice of your submission would be appreciated, but is not necessarily required. Please refer to the publication schedule for exact space and submission deadlines for editorial.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to include your name, your D14 membership number and a phone number in case there are problems with your submission. Unless it is necessary (on deadline, etc.), if you email your submission in, it is likely that is the way you will be contacted in the event of a problem.

PHOTOS
Digital photos can be emailed as .jpg or .tiff files with a resolution of at least 200dpi, but no more than 300dpi. Refer to your digital camera instructions if you need help with the proper settings on your camera to accomplish this. Please submit your files in the original format as you retrieved from your camera — no cropping or editing.

When submitting photos electronically, send each photo as a separate submission and include in your email the name(s) of the individual(s) in the photo, event location, event date and caption you would like to accompany the photo in print.

When mailing your photos on CD, include a typewritten sheet of paper which references each file name and appropriately indicates the same photo identification information above. Please call for mailing address if you will be mailing your photos.

FTP upload is also available for advanced users - please call or email for Site ID and password.

Submitting Your Ad
If you will be submitting an advertisement for placement in Michigan's District 14 News, space reservation is recommended to ensure your ad gets into your desired issue. Please refer to the schedule for space and material deadlines.

You may submit your ad electronically (either email or FTP) or mailed on CD. All advertisements must be submitted with the proper dimensions as your reserved space. In the event it is not, a design fee may apply to accommodate meeting the space requirement. Advertiser is responsible for any additional design fees incurred.

Accepted ad formats are:

JPG or TIFF file (max.quality)
EPS or AI (w/all fonts outlined)
PDF (with all fonts embedded)

Submitting Payments
Invoicing for advertising will be mailed out around the 1st of the month following publication. Payments are Due Upon Receipt. Submit your payment according to the terms outlined on your invoice.

Your timely payment is greatly appreciated. If your account goes into a delinquent status, you will be charged a $25 late fee and your ad will be pulled from the publication schedule until your account is brought current.

All new accounts will be required to pay for advertising in advance of printing. Previously delinquent accounts may be required to pay a deposit in advance of printing for as long as it takes to bring your account back into good standing.
